Dr. Tino Luehman graduated from Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. In addition to her veterinary degree, Dr. Luehman is certified in veterinary acupuncture. She has diverse undergraduate training and interests having double majored in Psychology and Geography and Environmental Systems, earning a BA and a BS, respectively, from UMBC in Maryland, and earned BS in Biology from Towson University also in Maryland. Prior to enrolling in veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary technician and assistant for eleven years. She decided to pursue veterinary training when she was not able to obtain excellent care for her dogs, cats, birds, and bunnies for nighttime emergencies and she excels in emergency veterinary medicine.
Fortunately, Dr. Luehman is a night owl and thrives working the overnight emergency shifts. Her emergency medicine interests include any and all dog and cat emergent cases and managing emergencies for bunnies, birds, and other small pocket pets. She especially enjoys surgery and will perform a variety of soft tissue surgeries on dogs and cats, as well as surgery on birds and bunnies. Among the many surgical procedures that she performs are liver lobe torsions, gastrointestinal blockages, and jaw abscesses in bunnies.
In her spare time, Dr. Luehman works with several exotic/small pocket pet and bird rescue groups in the area. She and her husband share their home with multiple foster rabbits and birds, most of whom have chronic medical needs and disabilities.
