Dr. Subash Kethavath

DVM

Emergency Veterinary Mentee

He was born and raised in India, and after completing his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine training there, he volunteered with the World Veterinary Services, where he gained valuable surgical experience working as a Veterinary Assistant Surgeon.  He has a strong background in medicine and science and furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he pursued a Master's of Science (MS) degree.  After earning his MS in Madison, he held a position in Nebraska as a research scientist.  He has published a number of scientific papers while training and working at both institutions.

Passionate about animal care, he completed the Veterinary Licensing Exam in North America.  He launched his career in veterinary medicine locally in San Francisco, working at a small animal general practice where he focused on preventive and clinical care for his patients.  Dr. Kethavath’s desire to expand his veterinary skills and seek greater challenges from veterinary medicine led him to shift his focus to emergency medicine, hence he joined our team as an emergency medicine mentee.

Dr. Kethavath views veterinary medicine akin to human pediatrics, emphasizing the importance of nurturing care and fostering well-being for his patients.  Outside of work, he enjoys the simplicity of life, from hiking and cooking to spending quality time with family and friends.  Dr. Kethavath is deeply committed to helping not only his patients but also the people around him, driven by a belief in humanity and compassion.

Dr. Kethavath is dedicated to learning and excelling in veterinary emergency medicine.  He will be training as a mentee under the tutelage of our excellent DVM team for the next four to six months.
